Common aircon problems we fix
Not sure what’s wrong? These are the faults we diagnose and repair most often. We find the cause first, then quote you before any repair work begins.
- Aircon not cold / weak cooling — often low refrigerant, a dirty coil, or a failing compressor or capacitor.
- Water leaking from the indoor unit — usually a blocked condensate drain or a choked drainage pipe.
- Runs but won’t cool — possible refrigerant leak, faulty thermistor, or PCB fault.
- Won’t switch on at all — power supply, isolator, remote, or PCB issue.
- Tripping the circuit breaker — an electrical fault that needs checking before further use.
- Strange noises or vibration — loose fan, worn bearing, or a mounting issue.
- Bad smell when running — mould or bacteria on the coil and blower; often cleared by servicing or a steamwash.
- Ice forming on the unit or pipes — low refrigerant or restricted airflow.
- Blinking light / error code — the unit is flagging a fault; we read the code and diagnose.
How our troubleshooting works
- Diagnose. Our technician inspects the unit and finds the root cause — one flat trip fee covers the visit.
- Quote. If parts or repair work are needed, you get a clear quote within 24 hours. Nothing is charged without your go-ahead.
- Fix. Once you approve, we carry out the repair — backed by our 30-day guarantee.
Our transparent repair policy
Major repairs ($200 and above): the troubleshooting fee is waived entirely — you only pay the quoted repair price.
Standard repairs (below $200 needing a second trip): we waive the diagnostic fee, but a flat $30 logistics fee is added to cover the return trip to fit your parts.
On-the-spot fixes: if we resolve it on the first visit (e.g. capacitor replacement or a quick service), the troubleshooting fee is waived 100% — you only pay for the service or part provided.
Backed by our 30-day guarantee
Every repair carries a 30-day service guarantee: if the same issue recurs within 30 days, we put it right at no extra cost.
Installed your system with us? Repairs may fall under your installation warranty — and unlike many installers whose compressor cover is the part only, ours includes compressor replacement labour and materials. See our warranty page for current coverage.
